Frequently Asked Questions

“How does the booking process work”?

If you are happy with your quote and you would like to proceed with a booking, I have a very simple 2 step booking process:

• Step 1 - I will send you a link to a performance contract via Signeasy. You will be able to review and sign the contract using your mobile device, tablet or computer by following the email link. You will receive a copy to retain for you records once the contract has been completed.

• Step 2 - The next step is to confirm the booking with a 20% deposit transfer. I will then invoice you for the remaining payment, which can be paid at any time up until 28 days prior to the event.

“How far are you able to travel”?

I cover the whole of the UK and Europe. Travel expenses are calculated at 45p per mile, however, simplified fees are typically provided to offer a rounded quote price.
For events conducted outside of the UK, you will be required to cover the following expenses if they are applicable - fuel, flights, accommodation, parking, vehicle hire, airport transfers, international work/travel documents, sound system hire and food and drink expenses for the agreed duration of my visit. It sounds like a lot, but I will always go well out of my way to find the most reasonable and affordable prices.

“Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates”?

Yes, a copy of my PLI and PAT certificates can be produced upon request.

“Do you have your own equipment”?

Yes, I can provide my own sound system and party lighting which is all included in the packages offered on my pricing page.

“Can you perform outdoors or with no power”?

Yes, I can hire a battery powered sound system for an additional £20 hire charge for events that have no power sockets within 15m of the performance area. I am more than happy to perform open air events, providing that there is some form of canopy or shelter on standby, just in case.

“Can we request a song that is not in your repertoire”?

Yes of course, if the song(s) are to be played during the wedding ceremony or for the first dance then I will learn them at your request for no additional cost. For all other special song requests I charge £50 per song which covers the time spent learning them.

“Can we hear recordings of our song requests before the day”?

Absolutely, I can send you an audio recording of your special song requests at any stage of the booking. Feel free to ask me at any time.

“Can we choose which songs you play during the live sets”?

Yes you can, although in my years of experience I have been able to fine tune my ability to read a room effectively and pick the ideal songs on the spot based on an audiences response to suit the atmosphere.

“Can we book you for a time that is not listed on your website”?

Yes, the performance packages listed on the website are there to act as guidelines for the services I offer. I would be more than happy to provide you with a tailored quote for your enquiry, don’t hesitate to get in touch today.

“What forms of payment do you accept”?

Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment.

“How far in advance should I contact you”?

Typically at least 3 months notice is required, but I can sometimes accommodate last minute bookings.

“How much time do you need to set up and pack down?”

Setting up takes approximately 90 minutes and packing down takes roughly 45 minutes.

Is WIFI access required for the ‘Playlist DJ’ service”?

Preferably yes, as it will make it much easier for me to fulfil your guests song requests on the night, but if there is limited or no internet access in the form of WIFI or 4G I have thousands of hours of offline Spotify playlists saved as a backup. So the music can go on regardless.
